To find good places where golf tuition can be done is essential. There are some great areas in US and Asia but working mainly with European people we believe that south of Europe and Morocco are the best places. No Jet lags and short distances to travel.
The game of golf was invented in Europe and it groves in popularity everywhere. There are more than 4000 Golf Clubs in Europe and southern Europe is getting increasingly popular with its fine weather and popular tourist destinations.
During the “European summer” almost everybody I know like to play golf as much as possible. To take lessons and make improvements at this time of the year is therefore a difficult choice for many. A good time for learning and improving golf is in the late autumn, winter and early spring.
The only places for ”European people” where there is good golf and climate all year is: Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
MOROCCO / Mogador
Interesting golf
At the new Golf Mogador in Essaouira, Morocco, Gary Player has on a 600 acre of undulated land next to the Atlantic created an outstanding golf facility. All in harmony with the nature. Planned 36 holes and 27 holes are ready. 9 holes are now used by the academy / school for training. Next year all 36 holes will be ready. Excellent practise areas, bunkers, greens and a top –range with ”real” white balls. The fairways are generous and the greens are quick and fair. All holes are are different and you will not get bored playing the course.
In Essaouira we cooperate with 3 hotels. I have stayed in all of them and can therefore recommend them.
Mogador Golf & Spa, Pool area at the "Villas"
- Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa, the new ”Top Hotel”, is situated on the golf course, and offers a real luxurious stay. Rooms, suites and villas with private pools. Restaurant, bars, a great hotel pool with snack bar. Close to the Atlantic with beach and natural Dunes. All you need for well being and leisure.
The Pool at Hotel Essaouira
- Atlas Essaouira & Spa is approximately 4 km from the course, right on the ”boardwalk” in Essaouira, only 10 minutes walk to ”the old town”. It is a 5 star hotel with a Spa and pool, very high standard.
Hotel IBIS double room
- IBIS Hotel, the budget alternative is situated at the entrance of the town. It is a nice little hotel with a good swimming pool, a small restaurant and breakfast area. Small rooms, air-conditioning and Internet in every room. Distance to the course is also approximately 4 km.

SPAIN / Marbella
South of Spain is always great golf
The real “Eldorado” for golfers is off course south of Spain with its “Costa del Golf”. These areas are becoming over-crowded and it starts to be difficult to find places where you can teach in a quiet and stress free atmosphere. There are still a few places that fulfil this. It is so important that the environment and golf facilities are suitable for education. There are many hotels and apartments to rent in and around Marbella and there are never any problem to find really good accommodations. I cooperate with a golf service company and they are there to help our students with good prices on car rentals and accomodation. If you need help, please contact me.
The US PGA Tour Teaching Simulator is situated in Cannes and is, as you understand an “indoor” activity.
