Royal Golf in Morocco

GOLF IN MOROCCO is well known. The “old” King Hassan II was a “keen golfer” and the courses here are high class. The present HRH Prince Moulay Rachid is an interested and very good golfer and he is keeping the Royal tradition for golf alive.

The golf “resort”,  Golf Mogador is built on an undulating beautiful preserve next to the Atlantic Ocean. It has been designed by Gary Player and the practice areas, range, academy and all golf holes are of the highest standard.

The old Fortress in Essaouira

Mogador was the name of this town when a few hundred years ago it was a Portuguese colony. The Moroccan (Arabic) name now is Essaouira. It is a small fishing town on the Atlantic coast with 70,000 inhabitants (2010), lots of charm, and well known for its beaches, wind and kite surfing, climate, spices, music festivals, unique wood work, seafood and culture.

When Gary Player designed  the course and the practice facilities it was highlighted from the very beginning as “a pearl” in world golf.  It is a new 36-hole (at the moment 27 holes, with an additional 9 used for training) establishment with very good practising/training facilities/nice golf. Its extremely relaxed atmosphere makes it to a perfect place for learning and practising. It has already been awarded as one of the best new 20 golf resorts in the world by World of Golf.
